Srinagar : R.V. Raju, an IPS officer holding the rank of director general of police, was Wednesday posted as new chief of Jammmu and Kashmir’s anti-corruption body.
After his recent recall from deputation with the Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI), Raju will now head the State Vigilance Organisation.
The State Administrative Council (SAC) that met here Wednesday with the Governor N.N. Vohra in chair approved Raju’s new posting.
The SAC also appointed D.C. Raina as the new advocate general of the state in place of Altaf Ahmad Naik whose resignation from the post was accepted by the government.
The SAC has also approved the extension in the contractual appointments made under Jammu and Kashmir Contractual Appointment Rules, 2003 for a period of six months with effect from Oct 1, 2008 to Mar 31, 2009.
The decision will benefit 3,600 employees working on contractual basis in various government departments.
