Prime Minister Manmohan Singh met Chinese premier Wen Jiabao and discussed an entire range of issues, including the decades old border dispute and expansion of economic ties between the two Asian neighbours.

“They had a very warm and friendly meeting. They discussed expanding cooperation in civilian uses of nuclear energy,” Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon told reporters after the meeting of the two leaders at New York Palace Hotel.

The parleys were held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meeting.

Describing the boundary dispute as a complicated one, Manmohan Singh and Wen expressed their satisfaction over the “progress so far in negotiations on the issue”, Menon said.
