BJP to go direct-to-home on Dish TV to seek vote

New Delhi : Dish TV, part of the media conglomerate – Zee Group, Thursday inked an agreement with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to advertise its �Strong Leader, Decisive Government’ campaign for the forthcoming general elections.

Now every time a viewer switches on a television set connected to Dish TV, the BJP election campaign will beam on by default.

The BJP’s advertising campaign will have ad spots running on Dish TV’s default landing interactive channel, 999, and will also be beamed on its News Active and Bhakti Active services, said Dish TV chief operating officer Salil Kapoor.

Dish TV has over five million subscribers.

News Active and Bhakti Active services are offered free of charge by Dish TV to all its subscribers. These channels telecast news and religious items live all the time.

Kapoor said that the Congress and other regional parties were in touch with it for advertising their election campaigns.
