Amethi (Uttar Pradesh) : Priyanka Gandhi feels her brother Rahul has leadership skills and could be the prime minister of India “one day” but maintains the present incumbent Manmohan Singh would adorn the post after the Lok Sabha elections.
On the campaign trail for Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi in Uttar Pradesh’s Amethi constituency, Priyanka said: “He (Manmohan Singh) is hopefully the next prime minister of the country and Rahul is also a capable and responsible Congress worker.”
“I have full faith in my brother. He works very hard. And according to me, he is qualified and one day I am sure he will (become the prime minister),” Priyanka told reporters Sunday.
The daughter of Congress president Sonia Gandhi asserted that she was against cheap politics.
“I am against hate and petty politics and the main aim of all politicians should be the development of the nation. Our politics should be forward looking and should aim to take India forward,” Priyanka said.
