London : Pop star Britney Spears’ plans to extend her circus tour to Australia and Europe seems to be in trouble, thanks to global economic crisis.
The singer, who remains under the conservatorship of her father Jamie, went to court earlier this month to seek permission to take her shows beyond North America, Canada and Britain. But the judge overseeing the case refused to make a ruling – insisting the decision rests on whether the flagging US economy picks up over the next few months.
“It hasn’t yet been determined whether it’s feasible to expand tours to the Europe or Australia legs. That will be determined in the future after everyone’s seen the analysis, in terms of the economy and value of the dollar,” said L.A. Superior Court Commissioner, Reva Goetz.
Spears’ lawyers were back in court in Los Angeles for a hearing on Tuesday.
Britney is currently touring North America and will head to London in June.
