Kolkata : China Eastern Airlines Co, one of China’s leading state-owned carriers, Wednesday said it will increase its flight services from Kolkata to Kunming from June.
“We will have seven flights from Kolkata to Kunming a week from June. At present, we have four flights operating on the Kolkata-Kunming route,” Li Ji, general manager (Calcutta operations) of the airline, told reporters.
The company is also planning to increase the flight frequency on the Delhi-Shanghai route from the present three per week.
Asked about the airline’s decision to increase services, he said: “It’s done in a bid to attract tourism in the region.”
Li Ji added that the present flights have 100 percent occupancy.
