During discussion on secretary report read by AIMMM general secretary Maulana Ameeduzzaman Kairanvi, various burning issues concerning the Millat and the country were raised by the participants. AIMMM vice president Maulana Wali Rahmani dwelt on Justice Katju’s bid to link Muslims’ beards with ‘Talibanization’.
Expressing concern over implications of a judge’s remarks, Maulana Rahmani told, “I have apprised Justice Katju of my own as well as all Muslims sentiments in this connection. Mentioning recent incidents of terrorism in India, I have also pointed out in this letter that no beard or veil was involved in these incidents.”

Terrorism-born problems were mainly emphasized in resolutions passed by AIMMM executive body. Demanding action against officers responsible for defaming and disheartening Indian Muslims by arresting, torturing and harassing blameless Muslim youths, AIMMM has also sought immediate action for economic, educational and social rehabilitation of exonerated young men. It also demanded judicial inquiry into Batla House Encounter case.

AIMMM executive body also demanded implementation of Sachar Committee recommendations that are instrumental for Muslims’ welfare and give powerful representation to Muslim leadership.

Supporting IOC resolution on Israeli atrocities and Iranian president Ahmadinejhad’s condemnation of Israeli government and Zionism, AIMMM has demanded the government of India to create public awareness against that racist regime instead of strengthening India’s relations with it.
