Shimla : Eighteen people were killed and 25 injured when the bus they were in skidded off the road and fell into a 200-foot gorge near Chamba in Himachal Pradesh Friday, officials said.
Deputy Commissioner (Chamba) Devesh Kumar told IANS on phone that the private bus, bound for Chamba town, fell into a gorge near Salooni village, 40 km from Chamba town, Friday evening.
The injured have been admitted to the Chamba district hospital, he said.
The spot of the accident, about 475 km from the state capital, is one of the remotest places in the state.
In April, 19 people were killed when a private bus fell into a gorge in the same district.
