New Delhi : Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Saturday made no reference to Pakistan by name in his Independence Day speech — a rarity on this annual occasion.
Addressing the nation from the Red Fort, the prime minister spoke about India’s desire to have good relations with all its neighbours but made no pointed reference to Pakistan.
He also avoided talking about Pakistan while discussing the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, whose ownership is disputed by Islamabad.
