Kochi: The Ramadan sermon of Moothedam Rahmatullah Qasmi, director of the Qur’an Study Centre and noted scholar and orator, was inaugurated by E Ahmed, Minister of State for Railways, in Kozhikode yesterday.
Ahmed said that calamities occurred in the world when people went away from the teachings of the Holy Qur’an. The learning and teaching of Qur’an are the best things. The Qur’an remains the best guide of the world, added Mr Ahmed.
It is the duty of the community to love the family of Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) also as we love him, said Moothedam Rahmatullah Qasmi. The Thangal family of Panakkad has always tried to stand for the general public, rather than just for the Muslim community. Shihab Thangal succeeded in keeping together religion and politics, he added.
Cherusseri Sainudheen Musliyar, general secretary of Samastha Kerala Jam’iyyathul Ulema, presided over and Syed Muhammed Koya Thangal, qazi of Kozhikode, prayed at the function. E Ahmed also released the book of CT Abduraheem – ‘Muslim Bheekaravadathinte Thayverukal’ (The Roots of Muslim Terrorism) – by giving a copy to Bava Chaliyath. Nasar Faisi Koodathayi, state general secretary of Samatha Kerala Sunni Students’ Federation, also spoke at the function. K Moin Kutty Master, general convenor, Sadiqali Shihab Thangal, Syed Munawarali Shihab Thangal and Dr MK Muneer also attended among others.
Today’s topic is ‘Is Thalaq losing the seriousness?’ and will be inaugurated by MP Abdussamad Samadani, national secretary of the Muslim League. Parannoor PP Ibrahim Musliyar, treasurer of Samastha Kerala Jam’iyyathul Ulema, will preside over the session.
