New Delhi : Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit Thursday said the pavements being constructed in the national capital will be “disabled-friendly”, among other features in transport and buildings for the convenience of the disabled.
All government buildings are being made disabled-friendly, she said after distributing wheelchairs and modern wheeled walkers to over 40 disabled people at her residence here, at a function organised by the International Society for Human Welfare and Rehabilitation (ISHWAR) to mark the World Disability Day.
“DTC’s (Delhi Transport Corporation) low-floor buses have been provided with disabled-friendly features. Toilets in the government buildings are also being made disabled-friendly,” Dikshit said.
