Patna University to have a new hostel for minority girls

Patna: Bihar’s prestigious Patna University (PU) will soon have a new hostel for minority girl students. The hostel, constructed by the state government’s minority welfare department, will be ready for students in a month.

The university has constituted a governing body to ensure proper functioning of the hostel. The body consists of pro-VC Syed I Ahsan as the chairman while head of Urdu department Mr. Ezaj Ali Arshad, principal of Women’s Training College Monawwar Jahan, head of Persian department Abid Hussain and Patna College psychology teacher Iftekhar Hussain as members.

In a meeting under the chairmanship of the pro-VC held on December 3, the governing body decided to start admission of minority girls to the hostel named after Mother Teresa. The furnishing of the hostel will be completed in a month by the minority welfare department.
