Bhubaneswar: Two people were arrested for allegedly abducting a three-year-old son of an industrialist from Orissa’s Rourkela city Wednesday, police said.
The child, Sohan, was abducted by five men when he was returning home with his caretaker from a kindergarten school.
Sandip Gautam, the boy’s father, informed police that he had received a call from the kidnappers demanding Rs.40 lakh in ransom.
Police tracked the mobile phone the kidnappers used and managed to locate them within hours, district Superintendent of Police D. Patnaik told IANS.
“There were five kidnappers and we nabbed two of them. We also rescued the boy. We have handed over the boy to his parents,” Patnaik said. Rourkela is over 500 km from here.
