Seven low-floor buses, running on compressed natural gas, have caught fire between Nov 21-Dec 21.

“A committee is already investigating the causes behind the incidents. There are two to three possible causes which are being addressed by our technicians at every depot. But based on our experience we are tightening our maintenance schedule,” Ravi Pisharody, president of Tata Motors’ commercial vehicle business unit, said.

The maintenance scheduled has been revised the 950 low-floored buses have already clocked more than 100,000 km.

The Delhi government has also ordered an inquiry into the incidents.
