Raipur : Chhattisgarh has 4,082 HIV positive patients with 43 percent belonging to the 25-34 age group, a survey report of the state government said.
“As per the tests results confirmed by dozens of blood banks and sexually transmitted diseases (STD) clinics operational across the state, Chhattisgarh has now reported a total of 4,082 HIV positive,” said an economic survey report of the state government released Wednesday.
“Raipur district has topped with 1,840 HIV positive patients followed by Durg district with 559 cases and Rajnandgaon stood third with 435 cases,” the report said.
The state’s insurgency-hit, impoverished tribal-dominated Dantewada district has the lowest of just 13 HIV positive patients, it said.
