New Delhi : Delhi is always under the terror threat as it is the national capital, Home Minister P. Chidambaram said Tuesday.
“Delhi being the capital of the country always faces threat of terrorism. Policing in a metropolitan city like Delhi has become complex and requires a more innovative and imaginative approach to tackle it,” Chidambaram said at the 62nd Raising Day function of Delhi Police.
Chidambaram emphasised on “the visibility, mobility and striking power” of police forces so that ordinary citizen feel safe and have faith in the police.
He said interests of the police personnel, who die in harness, would be fully protected and every effort would be made to look after their families.
