Kolkata : Three men were arrested Wednesday with heroin worth around Rs.10 million, police said here.
“Acting on a tip off, we arrested three people from Kolkata Race Course area in the southern part of the city. We seized 900 grams of heroin whose international market value will be around Rs.1 crore (Rs.10 million),” Deputy Commissioner of Police (detective department) Jawed Shamim told reporters here.
“We trapped a gang of five while they were on their way to deliver a consignment in Hooghly district. Three were arrested, but two others fled in their car,” Shamim said.
The police said there was likelihood of these men being part of a bigger racket.
