Ameen Khan inducted in Rajasthan cabinet

New Delhi: Just ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot today expanded his cabinet by inducting ten new ministers. The move is aimed at giving a broader representation to various communities in the state to consolidate the Congress base.

Of the ten ministers inducted today two are of cabinet rank and eight ministers of state. Ameen Khan who represents Barmer district’s Sheo assembly constituency in the state assembly has been inducted as minister of state. Besides Khan, Ram Lal Jat, Bharosilal Jatav, Ashok Bairwa, Mangilal Gharasia, Pramod Jain Bhaya, Babulal Nagar and Gurmeet Singh Kunnar were also inducted as ministers of state.

Dr Jitendra Singh and Rajendra Pareek were sworn-in as cabinet rank ministers. With today’s induction, the cabinet has expanded to 23 with two parts of the cabinet comprising one Muslim each.

The 13 member cabinet rank ministers include Aimaduddin Ahmad alias Duru Miyan. Ahmad represents Alwar’s Tijara assembly seat.
