Making the remarks on the sidelines of a seminar on ways of preventing crimes in society, the first deputy for the judiciary chief said the issue of human rights was in fact used by the US and a number of certain other world countries to put political pressure on developing countries especially Iran.

He said such claims by America or other countries never served the real aim of defending people’s rights or advancing human rights.

His remarks came as a response to an earlier report by the US State Department which repeated the same old human rights accusations against Iran.

Raiesee said Iran already expected such a report because it witnessed that the new American President, Barack Obama, too, like his predecessors, was following the same route of increasing pressures on Iran.

Stressing that the US and several other countries have always manipulated the human rights issue in their own political interests, he said the first-rate violator of human rights in today’s world was the US administration itself who was running such a horrendous place as the Guantanamo Bay prison.

Pointing out that the American establishment has always supported the Zionist regime’s crimes as well, the judiciary official said the American officials should feel ashamed of even mentioning such a term as human rights given their own dark record unless they repented from their shameful previous acts.

He said Tehran regarded the change of the administrative team in the US as just a change in actors and never looked at it as a change in attitude or objectives.

Stressing that the Iranian religious minorities enjoyed the same full rights and freedom as the majority Muslim citizens, he said claims of religious minorities’ human rights violations in Iran were a political scheme to undermine the Islamic Republic in Iran.
