New Delhi : Two men were arrested after a robbery bid at a bank here was foiled Monday. Three men, including two policemen, were injured.
The incident took place at the Central Bank branch of Kalkaji.
“They (three men) came on a bike and one of them went inside while the other two waited outside the bank. The robber took out a gun and threatened the employees and customers inside the bank,” Deputy Commissioner of Police southeast Ajay Chowdhury said.
An employee later overpowered the robber. “Finding himself overpowered, the robber ran out of the bank firing at people. The three men then ran from the place leaving their bike outside the bank.”
“After an hour when police was investigating the case, two men came and started the bike. As the police stopped them, they started firing at the cops. Two constables and one bank customer was injured in the firing,” Chowdhury said.
The two men were later arrested by the police.
