Gaza : Another Palestinian baby was added on Friday to the list of civilians killed from the Israeli air, naval and land attack against Gaza, maintained despite the UN call to an immediate cease fire.
Even after the UN Security Council approved in New York a resolution that urges to stop hostilities, the Israeli forces attacked 50 targets in Gaza early Friday morning, including a house near northern Beit Lahiya.
In that air attack, six civilians died, including a baby, while three other Palestinians died in a bombing in the center of the coastal strip.
According to Palestinian medical sources, at least 790 people have died and more than 3,250 have been wounded in the 14-day Israeli aggression that has also caused shortages of food, drinkable water, medicine, electricity and fuel.
Estimates by UN authorities and first-aiders said around 220 Palestinian children have died since December 17, a figure equivalent to one third of the total of fatal victims, of which around 40 percent were civilians.
Together with the air attacks, there were tank bombings and intensive artillery shootings during the early morning in Gaza”s northern area and the outskirts of the city, where there is high population density.
The Hamas militiamen launched on Friday eight rockets against Israel, of the 25 they have shot since Thursday night.
Israel has suffered 13 fatalities, 11 of which were military officers, since it started its attacks against that poor Palestinian enclave, which have been denounced by the International Reed Cross and the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees.
