Geneva : The United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) Monday condemned the Israeli military operation in the Gaza Strip and called for an immediate ceasefire.
In a special session here, the UNHRC passed a resolution in a 33 against one votes votes for and one against, with 33 absentions, promising to send an international investigative commission to the region.
The 9th special session of the 47-member committee started Friday and was brought about at the behest of Muslim and African states.
European states were among those abstaining.
