New Delhi : The Delhi High Court Wednesday slapped a fine of Rs.100,000 on a Blueline bus owner and ordered contempt proceedings against him for forging the post mortem report of a man killed in a road accident and for wrongly filing a case against the police.
A division bench headed by Chief Justice Ajit Prakash Shah and Justice S. Muralidhar pulled up the bus owner for getting his bus released from police custody without paying the fine on the basis of a fake post mortem report.
The bus owner also filed a false case against Delhi Police officials in a lower court, accusing them of harassing him. The lower court had ordered an inquiry into the matter.
The high court was satisfied with the judicial inquiry report the police submitted to it Wednesday.
Taking a serious view of the growing number of accidents involving Blueline buses, the high court had earlier imposed a fine of Rs.100,000 for the release of the bus involved in an fatal accident and Rs.50,000 for the release of bus causing grievous injury to the victim.
