Opposing Sharma’s bail plea, the prosecution informed a court here how he had forged the documents to seek bail on medical grounds.

“In our reply we have submitted a medical report of the G.B. Pant hospital in which a doctor denied giving such prescription to Sharma and also denied issuing any OPD card to him on the dates mentioned by Sharma,” a prosecution lawyer told IANS Wednesday.

Sharma sought bail on medical grounds last year from the Delhi High Court and said he should be allowed to visit Mohali where he had already undergone a surgery.

Justice Aruna Suresh, hearing the matter, transferred the case to the chief justice stating personal reasons. The case is now listed for Jan 19.

Sharma is lodged in Tihar jail for his involvement in the murder of Shivani Bhatnagar.
