New Delhi : Hyundai Motors Thursday launched an upgraded version of its existing premium segment sedan Sonata.
The luxury car, which was first launched in 2002, was followed by the Sonata Embera in 2005.
The new avatar of the costliest car from Hyundai’s stable is dubbed as the Sonata Transform and will be available in three variants ranging between Rs.1,390,000 (Rs.1.39 million) and Rs.1,590,000 (Rs.1.59 million) ex-showroom.
The vehicle will sport both petrol and common rail diesel engine, and the diesel variant will come with the option of automatic transmission.
The carmaker, which a fortnight back also launched the hatchback model i20, said it was able to garner an additional 3.4 percent market share in 2008 taking its overall share to 20.4 percent in India.
