Muslim women join hands to rehabilitate khaki terror victims in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: In a commendable move that will show light to the society which appeared almost indifferent to the acquittal of scores of Muslim youths in terror cases in Hyderabad, least to talk of their rehabilitation, the city Muslim women have come up extending their helping hand to the victim youths.

A group of women has formed a committee called Nisa Research and Resource Centre for Women. The purpose of this group is to provide counseling, research, social awareness, education, welfare, etc. to the women of Minority and backward classes. “The women of these victim youths had approached Nisa for financial help and encourage their men for self-employment. The bad impact of financial crisis always falls on women and they are the ultimate sufferers. Therefore after carefully examining the situation, the committee decided to provide financial help for the rehabilitation and self-employment of the victims, who were implicated in false cases,” says Nisa.



On an appeal for donations for the cause of uplift and welfare of poor Muslims and those who got affected in the name of so called investigation, people donated generously during Eid-Ul-Azha.

Nisa has provided a loan of Rs.50, 000/ without interest to one of the youths named Abdul Raheem, to start Kirana and General Store as source for his livelihood. The loan amount would be repaid in monthly installments. Earlier similar loan of Rs. 30,000/ was provided to Rayees Uddin to start electrical shop for sales and service.



“We have received applications from some more youths also. The committee also plans to continue this work. We thank all the people who donated for the generous cause and appeal once again to donate further for the upliftment of the poor and needy,” says Nisa in a release. The group has been formed on the initiative of Mr. Lateef Mohammed Khan, Gen Secretary of Civil Liberties Monitoring Committee.

Recently in a function the Kirana and General Store of Abdul Raheem was inaugurated by Dr. Rafat Seema, General Secreatery of Nisa, in the presence of other officials including Joint Secretaries Ms. Kaneez Fatima and Ms. Rayees Fatima, Ms. Mandakani Executive Committee Member of Nisa and Lateef Mohd Khan, Gen Secretary of Civil Liberties Monitoring Committee.



Abdul Raheem, a victim of police atrocities, was illegally detained and tortured severely, and implicated in a fabricated case. He spent 6 months in jail. When was released after acquittal he was jobless and people were not willing to give him job.
