New Delhi : Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit Thursday announced that Delhi government would give Rs.5,000 each to children who won National Bravery Awards.
The award-winning children met Dikshit and shared their experiences of their outstanding deeds of bravery and selfless sacrifice.
“Brave children are our nation’s pride, and will be the role model for other children,” said Dikshit while congratulating the children.
She appreciated their deeds and expressed confidence that the children would play a major role not only for their states but also for entire country.
Those who narrated his experience to the chief minister included the small boy who was a prime eyewitness Sept 13, 2008 serial bomb blasts that rocked Delhi.
“The boy was selling balloons at Barakhambha Road crossing near Connaught Place when he saw two terrorists planting a bomb into a dustbin. He came forward and provided vital clues to police displaying extraordinary courage in providing vital information about terrorists,” a government official said.
