Patna : Railway Minister Lalu Prasad’s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) received a setback Wednesday with senior leader and national spokesperson Shayam Rajak resigning from all party posts.
Party sources said Rajak, who is known to be a close confidant of Lalu Prasad, resigned from organisational posts since he was unhappy about the behaviour of some party leaders towards him.
Rajak, a Dalit leader, was the RJD’s national general secretary and a member of the party’s core committee.
Party sources said that despite his resignation from party posts, Rajak had made it clear that he was still loyal to Lalu Prasad. The legislator from Phulwarisharief in Patna district said he was eager to contest next parliament polls from a reserved seat.
