‘Nasreen has taken admission in a Maharashtra college. The 88,000 is meant for her 11th, 12th and CAT coaching classes in Mahesh Tutorial,’ told Farid Khan.
Talking to media persons Khan said that they will not let her poor economic condition be a hurdle in her way to higher education.
Showing worth follow generosity, Alia Muhammad Iqbal Choonawal, who secured first rank among the students of Mumbai and its suburbs Urdu schools and thereby was awarded Rs 5,000 in cash from QMS, gifted her award to Nasreen. She was followed by another student Muhammad Munef Iqbal Ahmad of St Mary High School Majgaon whom the QMS gave special award as he with 92.31% marks emerged topper among the Muslim students in convent English schools.

Later speaking to an Urdu daily Alia said, ‘I have a habit to read newspapers through which I am aware about the arrest of Maulana Ghulam Yahya and his family condition. Therefore, I thought why I shouldn’t help my sister (Nasreen) even through tiny amount.’
Maulana Ghulam Yahya, the lone bread earner for his family, was arrested on January 13 2006 for allegedly providing shelter to three Kashmiri trrorists. On February 9, 2008 a Sewri fast-track court framed charges against Maulana Yahya for harbouring three alleged Kashmiri militants in 2006. The Imam, however, had denied all charges.
All efforts by his family and some Muslim NGOs for his release have failed.
