New Delhi: The Uttar Pradesh Ulema Council (renamed recently as Rashtriya Ulama Council) has rejected the National Human Rights Commission report on the Batla House encounter terming it as an exercise carried out under duress.
National president of Rashtriya Ulama Council Maulana Aamir Rashadi Madni said the report is wrong and the timing of its publication when people were describing the encounter as fake exposes the intention of the government.
The NHRC was deliberately presented with the documents that could justify the fabricated story of the police and the former home minister could be saved, said Maulana Rashadi adding that this is distressful and painful.
He has demanded a CBI probe under the supervision of a Supreme Court judge of the September 19, 2008 shootout wherein two youths from Azamgarh who were later described as suspect terrorists and masterminds of Delhi serial blasts were killed in Batla House area of Delhi’s Jamia Nagar.
