NCP state president K. Muraleedharan told reporters after a meeting of office-bearers that they had decided to recommend to Pawar dissolution of the state committee so that elections are held for a new one by December.

The affairs in the state NCP have been fluid ever since Muraleedharan’s attempt to take the party into the Congress-led United Democratic Front failed after it faced stiff resistance from the Congress.

This move left the erstwhile leadership of the NCP in a quandary and following stiff opposition from within the NCP itself, Muraleedharan has been making attempts to join the Congress, which too has not gone down well with the Congress.

Asked if he was planning to join the Congress, Muraleedharan said: “In politics none can ever predict what the future holds.”
