Mumbai : Indian equities markets were trading in the negative terrain around noon Monday, with a key index ruling 262.23 points lower than its previous close.
At 12.45 p.m., the benchmark index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the Sensex, which opened at 15,195.83 points, was trading at 14,974.71 points – 262.23 points or 1.72 percent lower than Friday’s close.
Like the Sensex, the S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) too fell, shedding 1.21 percent from its last close to stand at 4,528.1 points.
Broader markets were also under pressure with the BSE midcap index slipping 1.25 percent from its previous close, while the BSE smallcap index was down 1.09 percent.
