The legislators and other Delhi BJP members gathered outside the assembly demanding that the Delhi government take immediate measures to provide relief to people reeling under power and water shortage in various parts of the capital.

“About 40 percent population in Delhi is facing water and power shortage and the Delhi government is not doing enough to tackle the problem,” BJP legislator Ramesh Bidhuri said.

The legislators said they would raise the issue during the budget discussion in the assembly. The Delhi assembly budget session started Monday and will go on till July 1.

“The protest was organised to raise the voice of the residents of Delhi before the government which has failed to address the problem of water and power shortage in the capital,” said Delhi BJP president O.P. Kohli.

In the 70-member Delhi assembly, the BJP has 23 legislators.
