Ranchi : Traders here Monday closed their shops till noon to protest the killing of three businessmen in Jharkhand in one month.
Black flags were put atop shops as hundreds of businessmen and traders took out a protest march to the governor’s house.
“If the situation worsens then there will be jungle rule in the state. Businessmen and traders are killed on regular basis and criminals roam free,” said Anchal Kinger, president of the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries.
The businessmen were protesting the killing of Raju Dhanuka, a builder and financer, in broad daylight by unidentified men Saturday afternoon. Dhanuka was shot as he was coming out of his office in Panchwati Plaza here.
The Jharkhand governor Sunday held a meeting with Jharkhand police chief V.D. Ram and senior officials and directed them to improve the law and order situation in the state.
