We are examining India’s response to 26/11 dossier: Pakistan envoy

Panaji, March 21 (IANS) Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India Shahid Malik Saturday said that his government is examining India’s response to the 26/11 terror attack questions.

“Pakistan’s interior ministry is in the process of examining India’s response to the questionnaire,” Malik said at a function organised by the Goa non-resident Indians commissionerate here.

He also said that Pakistan had cracked down on certain individuals who were suspected of having a hand in the 26/11 attack in Mumbai.

Reiterating that cracking down on fundamentalist terror was in Pakistan’s own interest, the diplomat said that terror has to be rooted out at any cost.

“The terrorists have no religion. We strongly condemn such acts,” Malik said, adding that it was a misconception that there was an organised “hate India” campaign in Pakistan.

“Neither are primary school children (in Pakistan) taught to hate India nor does Pakistan allow any terror organisation to operate within its boundaries.”

“We are carrying on the investigation (to the Mumbai attack) in Pakistan too. We have been victims of terror too,” he said.

Malik said relations between India and Pakistan were set to improve with increased contact between officials of the two countries.

“We talk to each other. Different officers are in touch with each other. There is no breakdown in communication.”
