Vajpayee, 84, underwent some tests Saturday.

“The tests show everything to be normal. This was a routine check-up,” Randeep Guleria, his personal physician and head of medicine at AIIMS, told IANS.

Vajpayee was admitted to the hospital Friday evening, almost three weeks after he was discharged from the hospital.

“Along with a routine examination, doctors conducted medical tests including X-ray and blood tests. Detailed tests were done this morning too. He is fine,” Guleria said, adding that the senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader would be discharged in the evening.

Vajpayee was admitted to AIIMS Feb 3 following chest infection. He was put on ventilator after his condition deteriorated. His health subsequently improved and he was discharged March 1.
