Bhopal : A 19-year-old boy here stabbed his aunt when she rejected his advances, police said Wednesday.
The incident occurred late Tuesday when the accused Guddu Tiwari reached the house of the victim, a mother of two and who happens to be his aunt, and finding her alone proposed to her. On being refused, the youth stabbed her and also made an abortive bid to burn her alive after pouring kerosene on her. Tiwari then fled the scene, police said.
However, hearing her screams, neighbours reached the scene and took the woman to the hospital where her condition is reported to be critical.
The victim is said to be six years older to the accused and both hail from Satna district of the state.
The police said that they registered a case of attempt to murder against the accused who is absconding.
