Bhatkal: Pressing the state government to recommend for a CBI probe into the murder of Advocate Naushad Kashimji, a procession was taken out in Bhatkal after Juma Prayer yesterday. The procession was taken out by several organizations under the banner of “Tanzim.” Advocate Naushad was killed in Mangalore last month.
The procession was taken out Idgah Maidan to Anjuman High School Ground where a meeting was held. K.L. Ashok, general secretary of Komu Souharda Vedike, demanded that the investigation of the Naushad case be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), The Hindu reports.
Ashok reportedly alleged that the Sangh Parivar and the police had conspired to kill Naushad. The Muslim community had no faith in the BJP Government in the State, he further said. Mangalore where Adv Naushad was killed has been in the news for wrong reasons in recent time. Acting as moral police the thugs of Rama Sene had beaten up women and girls in a pub. It is said that in the last one decade the district has become a breeding ground for Hindutva extremists.
