Iran first vice-president in Tanzania

Tehran : First Vice-President Parviz Davoudi arrived early Monday in the Tanzanian capital city of Dar es Salaam.

Davoudi, upon arrival, was welcomed by the Tanzanian president’s advisor and a number of other officials.

Later on Monday, the Iranian first vice-president will be officially welcomed by his Tanzanian counterpart Ali Mohamed Shein.

Davoudi is planned to meet with Tanzania’s President Jakaya Kikwete as well as the coutnry’s prime minister to confer on the issues of mutual interest.

He is also scheduled to meet with a number of Tanzanian businessmen and deliver a speech to a group of students and ulema of that country.

Heading a ranking delegation, Davoudi arrived in South Africa on May 9 on the first leg of his two-nation African tour which has taken him to the mainland Tanzania.

He will also visit Tanzania’s Zanzibar.
