Mumbai : After two days of losses Indian equities markets opened on a positive note Friday, with a key index ruling 174.85 points higher than its previous close.
The sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) opened the day at 11,948.7 points. About 10 minutes into trade, it was ruling 172.62 points or 1.45 percent higher at 12,045.53 points.
At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the broader S&P CNX Nifty index was also in positive terrain, gaining 1.34 percent to be at 3,641.75 points.
Broader market indices were also in the green, with the BSE midcap index ruling 1.7 percent up and BSE smallcap index trading 1.5 percent higher than its previous close.
