“Like a diligent farmer, good seeds sown by us in Tamil Nadu have yielded a deserving harvest,” Karunanidhi told a private television channel.

He was non-committal about the future of MPs from his immediate family.

“Our party’s executive committee, scheduled to meet May 18, will discuss the future plans. Decisions about ministerial posts for (elder son) M.K. Azhagiri, (daughter) Kanimozhi and (grand nephew) Dayanidhi Maran should be taken by the persons concerned and not by my wishes,” Karunanidhi said.

Karunanidhi also sidestepped questions of his political heir apparent M.K. Stalin.

“The continued endeavours of (Local Administration Minister M.K.) Stalin has won him a seat in the hearts of the people here. Other positional elevations will come his way at the appropriate time,” Karunanidhi added.
