The Bhambri sisters – Ankita and Sanaa – skipped the Futures event in Mumbai last week and have been seeded first and fourth respectively here.

Anastasia Malhotra, who was the top seed in Mumbai and reached the semi-final, has been seeded second, and plays South Korean qualifier Soon-Mi Seo.

Isha Lakhani, who as a second seed bowed out of second round in Mumbai, has been seeded third. She opens against qualifier Sonya Dayal.

Ankita, 22, who has not had much match practice this year, had made a first round exit in Indonesia last week. She plays against 14-year-old national champion and wild card Ratnika Batra.

The Indian girls will face tough competition from Mumbai Futures winner Seo-Kyung Kang, who did not drop a set in the tournament and swept aside Chun-Yan He 6-1, 6-0 in the final.
