Lucknow : Five members of a family were found killed in Uttar Pradesh’s Hardoi district, police said Sunday.
A married couple and their three sons were killed Saturday night by unidentified assailants in their home in Matkhera village of Hardoi, 110 kms from here.
“Injury marks on the bodies reveal the family members were attacked by some sharp-edged weapons,” Inspector General of Police (Lucknow range) A.K. Jain told reporters in Hardoi.
One of the couple’s sons, who managed to survive the attack, is undergoing treatment in a Lucknow hospital. Police believe Shivam Shukla, 12, can provide vital information required to nab the assailants.
Even as the police are yet to ascertain the exact cause behind the killings, local villagers said family head Gopal Shukla was having a land dispute and that could be a possible reason behind the killings.
