Kochi: The Sachar Commission Report will be implemented in time overcoming the hurdles, said Union Defence Minister AK Antony. He was speaking after laying the foundation stone for the museum at the Karanthur Markaz in Calicut.
Mr Antony said that the Commission was appointed after overcoming a huge number of obstacles that had arisen against the studying of the backwardness of religious minorities. The basic reason for the domestic tensions faced by the country is the inequality prevailing in social, economic and educational sectors. Even though India is developing as an important power in the economic and military fields, the negligence of certain communities is an obstacle for the progress of the country, he added.
The digital library was inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Home Department Mullappalli Ramachandran.
Kanthapuram AP Aboobaker Musliyar presided over the function. Fasal Pookoya Thangal (Markaz president), Ali Bafaqi Thangal, CM Ibrahim (former Union Minister), Ramesh Chennithala (KPCC President), MK Raghavan (MP of Calicut), MI Shanavas (MP of Wayanad), Haroon Rasheed (Chennai), and UC Raman and PTA Raheem (MLAs) attended the function.
