Malaysia voices concerned over armed intrusion into Saudi Arabia

Kuala Lumpur : Malaysia has expressed concern over the reported armed intrusions into the territory of Saudi Arabia along its border with Yemen, which has led to a deterioration of the security situation in the area.

Foreign Minister Anifah Aman said here Monday that Malaysia also recognized the legitimate right of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of the custodian of the two holy mosques, King Abdullah Abdulaziz Al Saud, to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

“Malaysia also shares the concern of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and others at the worsening plight of civilians affected by the situation in the area,” he said in a statement.
