AMU launches programs in Oriental Studies for college teachers

Patna: The UGC Academic Staff College of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has launched two programs – Orientation Program and Subject Refresher Course in Oriental Studies- for university/college lecturers from across the Country.

The Orientation Program has attracted 23 participants who besides covering the prescribed course content, will also attend two special workshops. The first workshop is on Academic Writing Skills which will be coordinated by Dr. Rashid Nehal, Department of English while the second workshop is on Application of Geographical Information System Techniques which will be monitored by Dr. Shahab Fazal, Department of Geography.



The Subject Refresher Course in Oriental Studies is aimed to sensitize the participants of the course to the issues, challenges and prospects of research in Urdu, Arabic, Persian and Islamic Studies.

Notably, twenty eight university/college lecturers from various parts of the country are enrolled in this course.

Professor A.R. Kidwai, Director of UGC Academic Staff College, AMU, gave warm welcome to the course participants and described before them the significance arid relevance of this in-service training program.

He also expressed the hope that course participants will draw upon the expertise of eminent Resources Persons and the rich resources available at the Aligarh Muslim University
