Chandigarh: Looking down from a dining table at a height of around 164 feet is certainly an incredible experience. Moreover, being among the first batch of guests in Asia going on this breath-taking ride, multiplies the pleasure.
Chandigarh residents Saturday evening saw the proposal of dinning in the sky transforming into reality in just two-and-a-half minutes.
A total of 22 guests well strapped with the safety belts on the Dinner In The Sky (DITS) table, especially imported from Belgium, went on the top of this city, designed by legendary French architect Le Corbusier.
D.S. Bedi, a city-based teacher, was the first person in Asia to board the flight as the main organiser Kawaljit Singh Walia had dedicated the success of this project to him being his teacher and guide.
“It was very comfortable, in fact better than what I had expected. I would certainly love to board it again,” said Bedi, talking about the experience.
Manjit Ahluwalia, another guest, said: “I got apprehensive before the take off but I held my nerves, prayed to god and closed my eyes. After reaching at the top, it was a wonderful experience. I can never forget the moment I spent over the DITS in the sky.”
Rana Gurjit termed his experience scintillating. “It was a unique experience. I never felt so glad even after driving my new car as I am feeling today after boarding the wonder flight,” he said.
