Islamabad : Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani directed Minister for Interior, Rehman Malik to make stringent security arrangements and remain extra vigilant during Eid days.
In a meeting here at the Prime Minister House on Saturday, Gilani asked the minister that to secure the life and property of the people, he should keep a constant liaison with the provincial governments and share with them any credible information to thwart any unfortunate happening.
He said no lapse in this regard would be acceptable.
The Prime Minister inquired from the Interior Minister about the progress of a five-member family from Karachi which has been implicated in Saudi Arabia on charges of drug smuggling and directed to keep him updated on their status on daily basis.
Rehman Malik briefed the Prime Minister about his detailed meeting with the Saudi officials and hoped that some positive outcome shall soon be arrived at.
He updated the Prime Minister on the progress on investigations into the 26/11 Mumbai incidents and took further guidance from the Prime Minister.
The Interior Minister also briefed the Prime Minister about his recent visit to UAE.
