Athens: At least 195 kg of explosives have been found from the hideout of a terrorist outfit here, police said Sunday.
Greek police Sunday said it had detained six suspected members, including a woman, of the Revolutionary Struggle militant group on April 11, on charges of bomb attacks, attempted murder and illegal possession of explosives and firearms.
Based on information they had revealed, around 195 kg ammonium nitrate, enough to blow up a six-storey building, was discovered in a house, registered under a fake identity, police said.
The Revolutionary Struggle group, which emerged in 2003, was included into the EU list of terrorist organisations in 2007.
It is believed to be behind the 2006 assassination attempt of a former minister and the 2007 rocket attack on the US embassy in Athens. The group is also suspected of carrying out numerous bomb attacks in the Greek capital in September last year.
