Different army units demonstrated their capabilities and achievements during a special parade held at the mausoleum of the founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, in the presence of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Surface-to-surface missile Sejjil, long-range ballistic missiles Shahab 3 and Qadr 1 were some of the major attractions during the show, Fars News Agency reported.

The liquid-fuel Shahab 3 missile has a range of 2,000 km and is capable of carrying a 760-1,000 kg warhead. The solid-fuel Sejjil missile is capable of reaching a very high altitude and therefore has a longer range than that of Shahab 3 model.

Iran successfully tested the second generation of Sejjil missiles and brought it into mass production earlier last year.
